The Misericordia Health Centre is proud to collaborate with CancerCare Manitoba on four provincial programs located at our site:
- The Manitoba Breast Screening Program screens women aged 50-69 for breast abnormalities
- The Breast Cancer Centre of Hope is a resource available to breast cancer patients and their families
- Colorectal Cancer Screening for people age 50-74 who are at risk of Colorectal Cancer, the third most common form of cancer in men and women in Manitoba
- The Manitoba Cervical Cancer Screening Program aims to reduce the number of deaths from cervical cancer; about 50 Manitoba women are diagnosed with cervical cancer every year

In 1965, the care of young single mothers and their babies separated from Misericordia General Hospital with the opening of Villa Rosa.
Today, Villa Rosa’s Mission remains true to the Sisters of Misericordia: providing educational, health and social services to young single women and their families during and after pregnancy.

Wolseley Family Place is a non-profit community-based resource centre which serves “at risk” families with children living in the inner city of Winnipeg. Wolseley Family Place offers voluntary, drop-in services for parents and their children (up to six years of age). Some of the programs include:
- parenting skills and nutritional programming
- prenatal and postnatal classes
- life skills workshops and physical activity promotion
- peer support and abuse prevention workshops
- community store and clothing depot
Wolseley Family Place actively works in partnership with numerous other community groups and agencies encompassing education, health, business, church groups and government.
Education
As an evolving research and teaching centre, Misericordia is also proud to be affiliated with various educational organizations, including the universities of Manitoba, Winnipeg and Brandon. Our specialist physicians, nurses and therapists – some of whom hold joint university appointments – provide patient-centred care and conduct research while giving future health-care professionals hands-on training.
