The Misericordia Health Centre is proud to collaborate with CancerCare Manitoba on four provincial programs located at our site:
Screening Programs (GetCheckedManitoba.ca)
- BreastCheck provides mammograms to asymptomatic women 50 years of age and over to screen for breast cancer
- ColonCheck provides home screening tests to men and women ages 50-74 to screen for colon cancer
- CervixCheck aims to reduce the number of cases and deaths from cervical cancer by increasing the number of women who go for regular Pap tests
The Breast Cancer Centre of Hope is a resource centre which provides information and support for breast cancer patients,their families and the public.
Education
As an evolving research and teaching centre, Misericordia is also proud to be affiliated with various educational organizations, including the universities of Manitoba, Winnipeg and Brandon. Our specialist physicians, nurses and therapists – some of whom hold joint university appointments – provide patient-centred care and conduct research while giving future health-care professionals hands-on training.

- Misericordia Mental Health Services (MMHS):
MMHS is located at Unit 1, 25 Sherbrook, across the street under the parkade. This service houses the WRHA Psychiatric Urgent Referral Clinic (PURC). PURC provides timely psychiatric consultation to Misericordia Urgent Care Centre, WRHA Crisis Stabilization Unit, WRHA Mobile Crisis Service, Concordia General Hospital Emergency Department and to the WRHA Community Mental Health Program.
MMHS also is home to one of three offices of the WRHA Centralized Intake and Assessment Service, which provides psychiatric consultation to primary health care clinicians in the Winnipeg region and to the Addictions Foundation of Manitoba MINE Clinic next door.
MMHS also provides daytime on-call consultation to Urgent Care, the care units of Misericordia Health Centre and Misericordia Place. It is also the location of the private practice of psychiatrist Dr. Gary Sloan.
