Winnipeg, the capital of Manitoba, is often called the “Gateway to the West” because all the rail and highway traffic between eastern and western Canada must travel through the city.

We’re located near the geographic centre of North American on a flood plain where the Red and Assiniboine rivers meet, a point now commonly known as a tourist destination: The Forks.

Our city is a cultural centre and is the home of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet and the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra. We can safely boast historic architecture, scenic waterways, numerous parks including Assiniboine Park, and distinctive neighbourhoods.
